I took a self defense class on Saturday morning. Though, it was a good thing to do, it was a tough and emotional experience that brought up lots of feelings. I left the class and went to South Carolina to be with my sister. Saturday was her birthday, and she had to have surgery on Friday. I took this quilt with me. My grandmother had made it. Six or so years ago, before I owned the HQ I had several of her quilts sent off to be quilted. I finished binding three out of four of them, and gave them to my mom, sister and brother. Mine however never got finished. As a gift to me Marie and I picked out the binding fabric, she made the binding and sewed it to the front. I took it with me to South Carolina and worked on it as I sat in my sister's hospital room and then slept under it on Saturday night. It was like a warm hug on a what been a tough day, and for that I am thankful.
My sister is home and recovering well.
